What Is The History Of Plastic Surgery Procedures?
There is written evidence, which states clearly that plastic surgery of the face was done more than four thousand years back. Skin grafts were used even in 800 B.C for reconstructive surgery. Perhaps the origins of plastic surgery lie in the fact that punishment meted out by kings and masters in the old days was by cutting off an ear or nose or fingers or toes as punishment and these had to be reconstructed for proper use by the victims. A severed ear may have been grafted onto the body, or a cut finger might have been sutured back and hereby lay the beginnings of plastic surgery.
