Skin Tips For Every Decade Part 2
When You Are In Your 30’s
Your thirties will bring what most would consider unwanted surprises. You will for the first time be faced with your first signs of aging. This is probably one of the reasons why many individuals find entering the thirties difficult and birthdays become events to dread instead of celebrating.
When you enter this decade of life you will begin to see fine lines and wrinkles appearing around your eyes and mouth. As well you may begin to notice uneven skin tones; those individuals with darker complexions may show signs of discoloration while fair skinned individuals may see the appearance of brown spots (hyper-pigmentation) or ruddiness (reddened areas). Your skin has begun thinning, you are starting to loss collagen and cell turn over has slowed down.
Whether or not you have accepted the fact that you are and will continue to age, know that there are steps to take to slow the aging process and give your skin a healthy glow.
A slowing in cell turn over gives your skin a tired and dull appearance however this can be immediately remedied by using a exfoliating product. This is best achieved by using a retinol product at night. Retinols not only exfoliate but also stimulate collagen production, reduce fine lines, and treat acne. Using a night cream or serum with retinol is a must and is the most important in your arsenal for fighting aging skin.
Cleansing both morning and night needs to be part of your daily routine. Start your day by using a cleanser with alpha hydroxy acids or in other words on exfoliating cleanser. Before bed wash with a gentle creamy cleanser, you can not use an exfoliating cleanser twice a day.
As always a moisturizer with at least an SPF 15 with both UVA and UVB protection is a must. Look for moisturizers with antioxidants to help protect your skin from free radicals. The thirties also warrant the use of an eye cream or serum to help battle the darker circles that have or will appear under your eyes. Choosing a product with hyaluronic acid will give you an extra moisturizing punch.
Although the signs of aging have begun to appear; prevention is still the most important part of your daily treatment. Routine and consistency is the key to healthy glowing younger looking skin.
